ICM DIPLOMA IN PROFESSIONAL SELLING

Overview

Some of the best salespeople we have met used to be engineers, and you might ask why engineers? The reason being that they tend to have an aptitude for process, and structure, and display a disciplined approach to learning the skills of selling. These are the things that make a great salesperson. This programme is based on reality not myth. It presents a unique slant on what makes salespeople successful. By focussing on how people in sports and the performing arts gain and maintain high levels of performance, the Diploma in Professional Selling prepares everyone in selling, experienced or not, with a platform for a successful career in the world's oldest of professions.

Benefits of this programme

By focusing on the practical elements of professional selling, this programme enables salespeople to use the lessons learned immediately. Hundreds of salespeople have adopted the learning outcomes and have reported significant increases in sales success, motivation, and personal confidence. For the first time, here is an opportunity for the sales profession to gain degree level qualifications in sales - without the need to pad out the curriculum with marketing and other business disciplines which for most of us in sales is irrelevant. In addition, by using a blend of workshops and distance learning material, time away from work and encroachment on personal time, is kept to a minimum.

This is a higher level 7 qualification. The Diploma in Professional Selling has 12 learning units divided into three modules. The structure of the three modules is:

  • Module DPS1 – Selling as a Profession – a programme briefing; one end of module workshop; delivery of four learning units; a number of work-based exercises; an exam; and production of a professional development in the workplace portfolio.
  • Module DPS2 – Planning & Preparation for Sales - one workshop; delivery of four learning units; a number of work-based exercises; an exam; production of a professional development in the workplace portfolio.
  • Module DPS3 – Sales Process Implementation – one workshop; delivery of four learning units; a number of work-based exercises; an exam; a simulated sales interview; and production of a professional development in the workplace portfolio.
